After a few months, I flew to Chicago over spring break and he bought us a hotel room for the weekend, and I was extremely nervous. The last time he had seen me I was still practically a teenager and was slim and athletic. I was now older, and definitely the ‘curvy-thick’ type. I’m confident and love my body, but I know that thin and fragile is the type that society deems as beautiful and I was undoubtedly nervous that my unconventional body would be off putting to him.
